Project: Generation of isogenic control line from patient iPSC line by correcting the R47Q mutation in CSNK2A1 gene

Awarded to: University of Michigan

Grant Details:

Project funded for $13,584.73 for 8 months

Aims of Grant:

The CSNK2A1 Foundation has contracted the University of Michigan to create an isogenic control for an induced pluripotent stem cell line with the R47Q mutation. In rare disease research, it is important to compare patient samples to controls that are as similar as possible to the original sample, with the only change being the disease-causing mutation. These are called isogenic controls. Through CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology, the OCNDS-causing variants can be reverted to typical human sequences. These samples can then be stored, serving as an important resource for future OCNDS research.
