CSNK2A1 Foundation Logo & Brand Use Policy
Last Updated: September 2026
The CSNK2A1 Foundation name, logo, trademarks, service marks, and other brand assets are owned by or used under the authority of the CSNK2A1 Foundation.
Use of the Foundation’s name or logo must not suggest sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, approval, or affiliation by the Foundation unless that relationship has been expressly authorized.
Use of the Foundation Logo
The CSNK2A1 Foundation logo and other brand assets may not be reproduced, modified, distributed, used on merchandise, incorporated into another logo or design, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission from the Foundation.
The Foundation may grant limited permission to use its logo or other brand assets for activities that support the Foundation’s mission or benefit the OCNDS community.
Requests should describe:
- the proposed use;
- where and how the logo will appear;
- the dates or duration of use;
- the event, campaign, or project involved; and
- whether funds will be raised on behalf of or for the benefit of the Foundation.
Requests should be submitted to info@csnk2a1foundation.org sufficiently in advance of the proposed use.
Permission may be subject to Foundation branding requirements and may be withdrawn if the approved use changes or is inconsistent with the Foundation’s mission, reputation, or the interests of the OCNDS community.
Family and Community Fundraisers
The Foundation welcomes families and community members who wish to raise awareness of OCNDS or support the Foundation through independent fundraising activities.
A fundraiser organized by a family, individual, business, or other third party is independently organized and operated unless the Foundation expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
The organizer, not the Foundation, is responsible for the fundraiser, including:
- expenses;
- vendors;
- permits and licenses;
- insurance;
- event safety;
- fundraising representations;
- collection and handling of funds; and
- compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
If an event or campaign will use the CSNK2A1 Foundation logo, Foundation-created materials, or otherwise suggest that the Foundation is sponsoring, endorsing, or formally partnering in the activity, prior written approval is required.
Fundraising Proceeds and Expenses
Any person or group representing that a fundraiser benefits the CSNK2A1 Foundation must accurately describe how proceeds will be used and what portion of the proceeds will be remitted to the Foundation.
Organizers may deduct reasonable, documented expenses directly related to the fundraiser before remitting the remaining proceeds to the Foundation, provided that the fundraiser is accurately described as benefiting the Foundation through net proceeds.
For example:
- “100% of proceeds benefit the CSNK2A1 Foundation” should be used only when no fundraiser expenses will be deducted from the proceeds; and
- “Net proceeds benefit the CSNK2A1 Foundation” should be used when reasonable fundraiser expenses will be deducted before the remaining funds are donated.
Funds represented as benefiting the CSNK2A1 Foundation may not be diverted to unrelated personal, family, business, or other purposes.
The Foundation does not separately reimburse organizers for fundraiser expenses unless it has expressly agreed to do so in writing before the expense is incurred.
Handling of Funds
Approval to use the Foundation’s name or logo does not authorize an organizer to collect, hold, spend, or otherwise control funds on behalf of the Foundation except as specifically authorized in writing.
An organizer may collect funds in connection with an approved independent fundraiser, but must accurately disclose that the fundraiser is independently organized and must handle and remit proceeds in accordance with the representations made to donors and any written approval provided by the Foundation.
The Foundation may require organizers to provide documentation regarding fundraiser proceeds, expenses, or amounts remitted to the Foundation.
If an organizer represents that a specified amount or percentage of proceeds will benefit the Foundation, the organizer is expected to remit that amount to the Foundation within a reasonable period following completion of the fundraiser.
No Authority to Bind the Foundation
Permission to use the Foundation’s name, logo, or materials does not make an organizer an employee, agent, representative, partner, or joint venturer of the Foundation.
An organizer may not:
- enter into a contract on behalf of the Foundation;
- incur expenses, debts, or other obligations in the Foundation’s name;
- open accounts or payment-processing accounts in the Foundation’s name;
- represent that the organizer has authority to act for the Foundation;
- make commitments on behalf of the Foundation; or
- otherwise bind the Foundation without express written authorization.
Use of the Foundation Name
Individuals may accurately identify the CSNK2A1 Foundation when discussing the organization, linking to the Foundation, or stating that an independent fundraiser will benefit the Foundation.
The Foundation’s name may not be used in a business name, product name, contract, endorsement, sponsorship arrangement, fundraising campaign, or other manner that falsely suggests that the Foundation is organizing, sponsoring, endorsing, or controlling the activity.
Any agreement entered into on behalf of the Foundation must be approved and signed by an authorized representative of the Foundation.
Merchandise and Products
The Foundation’s logo or other brand assets may not be placed on merchandise, products, promotional items, apparel, or other goods without prior written permission.
Approval to use the Foundation’s name does not automatically include permission to use the Foundation logo or other brand assets.
Any approved use must comply with the specific terms provided by the Foundation.
Foundation-Created Materials
Educational materials, graphics, awareness materials, downloadable resources, and other content created by the Foundation may be protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights.
Unless otherwise stated, these materials may not be modified, sold, republished, or used commercially without permission.
The Foundation may authorize use of particular educational or awareness materials for family, community, fundraising, or advocacy activities.
Prohibited Uses
The Foundation’s name, logo, or other brand assets may not be used:
- in connection with fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful activities;
- to solicit funds under false or misleading circumstances;
- in a manner that misrepresents how fundraiser proceeds will be used;
- for personal financial gain in a manner that falsely suggests Foundation endorsement;
- in a manner that misrepresents the Foundation’s involvement;
- in connection with products or services that have not been approved by the Foundation;
- in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation;
- in a way that modifies or distorts the Foundation’s logo or brand identity without permission; or
- in a manner that could reasonably damage the Foundation’s reputation or the interests of the OCNDS community.
No Implied Endorsement
Permission to use the Foundation’s name, logo, or materials for a particular activity does not mean that the Foundation endorses every statement, product, service, individual, organization, or activity associated with that project.
Any approved use must accurately describe the Foundation’s role.
Withdrawal of Permission
The Foundation may revoke permission to use its name, logo, or other brand assets if:
- the approved use materially changes;
- the Foundation’s name or logo is used in a misleading or unauthorized manner;
- representations regarding fundraising proceeds are inaccurate or not honored;
- funds represented as benefiting the Foundation are not handled as represented;
- required conditions of approval are not followed;
- the activity becomes inconsistent with the Foundation’s mission or values; or
- continued use could reasonably harm the Foundation or the OCNDS community.
Upon notice that permission has been withdrawn, the organizer must discontinue the unauthorized use within the period specified by the Foundation.
