Caroline earned her PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Vanderbilt University. She has been committed to using iPSC models to study neurological diseases for 9+ years. Her thesis project in Dr. Vivian Gama’s lab focused on linking peroxisomal fission and metabolism to cell fate decisions during neurodevelopment in the context of Zellweger spectrum disorders, a family of rare, genetic, multi-system disorders. Caroline is an advocate for effectively communicating scientific information, as well as for increasing visibility and research of rare diseases. Outside of work, Caroline enjoys reading, playing board games, and petting her cat.
