Rylee Crowell
Rylee is a first-year Master of Science in Genetic Counseling student at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Kansas, where she completed research focused on metabolic regulation, including an analysis of insulin assays and glycogen energy storage to highlight the importance of customized treatment for type I diabetes. Through her work with the CSNK2A1 Foundation, Rylee will be developing clinician-facing resources to increase awareness of Okur–Chung Neurodevelopmental Syndrome amongst medical providers to support timely recognition and referral. Her advocacy interests center on improving access to specialized healthcare, particularly for individuals in rural or otherwise disadvantaged communities. Outside of academics and research, Rylee enjoys weightlifting and trying new foods.
