Dr. Carly Krull is the Scientific Program Associate at the CSNK2A1 Foundation, providing scientific and administrative support for OCNDS research efforts. She earned her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis, where her work explored the interplay between nucleocytoplasmic transport and mechanobiological cellular transitions. Now, Carly combines her background in cellular biology and nucleocytoplasmic transport with 7 years of project and operational management experience to support patient-focused research initiatives.
Before joining the Foundation in this role, Carly led research projects and managed laboratory operations in academic labs, overseeing day-to-day workflows, providing mentorship to junior researchers, and coordinating experiments across teams. Carly also worked as a Scientific Editor, evaluating communication materials to effectively convey scientific findings to different audiences.
Carly first joined the CSNK2A1 Foundation as an intern, using Simons Searchlight data to explore how CSNK2A1 gene variants influence patient outcomes. She has additional experience working with research-driven nonprofits, including consulting for the Endometrial Cancer Research Foundation on science communication and organizational strategy.
Carly currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri. Outside of work, you’ll most likely find her trail running, gravel biking, or endlessly entertaining her border collie, Riley.
