Raising Money For Rare Disease Research
37 foundations were chosen to participate in the Million Dollar Bike Ride (MDBR) and CSNK2A1 Foundation is one of them!
Join Team CSNK2A1 and be part of an incredible journey towards making a difference! Whether you're a cyclist, a walker, or eager to lend a helping hand as a volunteer, there's a place for you at this inspiring event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
WHEN & WHERE: The Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center (ODC) will host the 10th Annual Million Dollar Bike Ride in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 8, 2024 to raise money for rare disease research, including a research project on OCNDS. The ride will start and finish at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) campus in downtown Philadelphia.
WHAT: The MDBR brings over 600 cyclists and volunteers to UPenn’s campus to ride either 10, 32, or 72 miles starting in the city, and ranging across the Greater Philadelphia region. In ten years, the MDBR’s 30+ teams have raised over $20 million to fund research grants on the disease they represent. The ODC ensures that 100% of the funds received goes towards these pilot grants.
WHY: By participating, you're not only supporting transformative research but also creating hope for those affected by OCNDS. Every mile you ride or walk, every dollar you donate, brings us closer to our fundraising goal of $30,000 which will be matched by UPENN to fund an OCNDS research project. Each team must raise a minimum of $20k to receive a dollar‐for‐dollar match to be used for a 1‐year pilot grant. This is more than just a ride; it's a chance to unite with fellow OCNDS families, bond over shared experiences, and most importantly, raise vital funds for research. Dr. Rushing has already committed to walking, and President Jennifer Sills will be pedaling 32 miles—now it's your turn to join the cause!
